One section in the small text that I thought was interesting as well as useful was "Using Communication Networks." In any group or organization communication is key. One way groups can communicate effectively is through networks. The more involved or connected a person is to the participants in an organization or group the more centralized he or she is. According to the text a centralized network is one in which a majority of the communication passes through a small number of participants or maybe even one person. A decentralized network, on the other hand, is one in which many participants have a number of connections to others.
Networking also refers to communicating with others outside of a single organization or group. The thing about networking is that we as college students, don't have to necessarily be part of an organization or company, we do it in our everyday lives. Things such as Facebook and Twitter are the most popular and common. Also, when we exchange phone numbers our information, we are networking. We are meeting new people and profiting from the connection. The key to networking is to have people remember who you are and what services you offer.
I really like how you have use everyday example to demonstrate how networking fit into our daily life. Many people may not realize that we do live in the society that networking is the key. Networking can help us meet new people, find a jobs, or even open our eyes to so many new concepts and ideas. Especially in any communities or organization, networking is one of the major keys. By networking, people can keep in touch with the new ideas and things that are happening. It also an easy way to get message across to many people in short time period.
ReplyDeleteThis was also an interesting topic to me. It relates to me , because that is how I think of business. To be successful in getting a company or organization off of the floor is definitely by networking. The more people you know the more beneficial it'll be. You can possibly meet individuals and other business professionals seeking the same as you are. Communication will always be key. People communicate daily and that is key to networking. Good example and great way to put it. There are so many ways to contact people in our time. You can meet someone over the internet that can help you and yet, never meet in person. Its crazy how you can do things now.
